The unfolding hills change with the seasons, and the patterns of orchards, grapevines and olive groves decorate the slopes. Spring brings vivid yellow canola and mustard, sweet pink and white almond, plum, and then apple and cherry blossoms; baby lambs and calves play in the paddocks, and sometimes at dusk and early morning kangaroos and wallabies can be seen. Summer brings the warm gold of wheat, and the crisp green of lucerne. Ripening cherries, for which the region is famous, wink among the leaves, and in the fields the patterns change with windrowing and harvest.
