When Adrian (from an Italian family in Sydney) met Gabrielle (who lived in Young) their shared love of ‘the bush’ meant they wanted to call it home, provided good coffee was available.
Adrian & Gabrielle started their business in 1999 with a mobile coffee cart that still pops up at local festivals and events. in 2010 they opened their flagship espresso bar in Young ‘Art of Espresso’ which houses their coffee-roasting facility, becoming the region’s first certified Barista Training School, and producing their famous house blend – The Kombi Blend.
Art of Espresso was born from a desire to provide regional customers with quality fresh roasted coffee, celebrating coffee and good company, and changing the perception of coffee in the bush. Art of Espresso also has a vibrant live music scene with a firm nod to Australian independent roots music hosting the likes of Bill Chambers, Luke Dickens, Fred Smith and Aussie indie/folk legend, Kevin Bennett.
Since 2006 Art of Espresso has won over 30 national and international awards, including the gold medal and overall coffee champion in its class at the prestigious Sydney Royal Show Fine Food Awards in March 2016.
The commitment and delight with which Adrian, Gabrielle and their team live out their ethos of “relationships…not contracts” gives Art of Espresso its truly vibrant soul, attracting locals and travelers to enjoy their smooth elixir.
In 2012 Adrian and Gabrielle began the foundation “Human Beans for Peace” a charity that supports coffee growers and their families socially, ethically and sustainably.
