ANZAC Day Services in the Hilltops Region 2022

Anzac Day in the Hilltops Region, Young, Harden Murrumburrah, Jugiong and BoorowaOn Monday 25 April is ANZAC Day and commemorative services are being held across the Hilltops Region. These services will give the public, ex-service personnel and those currently serving the opportunity to remember the fallen and to reflect and pay their respects to those involved in the events that took place during World War I, World War II and all conflict since that time.

Communities in the Hilltops Region are gearing up to commemorate the day. Services are planned at Wirrimah, Koorawatha, Crowther, Bendick Murrell, Boorowa, Rugby, Bribbaree, Monteagle, Murringo, Harden-Murrumburrah, Jugiong, Wombat, Galong and at Young.

BENDICK MURRELL

Memorial service at Bendick Murrell Hall Memorial from 9:00am

BOOROWA

Dawn Service at Boorowa Memorial from 6:00am.

Boorowa march will start at 10:30am participants are asked to assemble at 10:15am adjacent the Old Court House Grounds. The march will continue from corner of Queen and Marsden Street to the War Memorial.

BRIBBAREE

March and memorial service will begin from 4:00pm.

Participants are asked to assemble in Weedallion Street adjacent to the Bribbaree Bowling Club. Then march west to the Cenotaph at ANZAC Park for wreath laying.

CROWTHER

A service will be held at the Crowther Memorial Gates at 10:15am.

GALONG

Dawn Service will be held at 5.30am in front of the Galong Memorial Hall followed by breakfast in the Hall.

HARDEN-MURRUMBURRAH

Dawn Service at Newson Park, Harden from 6:00am.

Harden’s march will start 10:45am. Participants are asked to meet at 10:15am at the Harden Mechanics Institute.

The march will continue to Newson Park, where a memorial service will be conducted and conclude around 12noon.

In the case of inclement weather, the services will be held at the Harden Mechanics Institute.

Murruumurrah’s service at the Lighthouse Memorial will commence at 12noon.

JUGIONG

Jugiong’s march will start at 3:30pm from the Jugiong Police Station and conclude at the Memorial Park on Riverside Drive where a memorial service will be conducted. Participants are asked to assemble at 3:15pm.

KOORAWATHA

Dawn service from 6:00am at the Memorial Gates in Koorawatha.

The memorial services will be held at Koorawatha Memorial Gates from 10:45am. All descendants wearing medals are welcome to join in the march. Participants to assemble in Boorowa Street adjacent Koorawatha Regional Rooms.

MONTEAGLE

Monteagle service will be held at the Monteagle Community Hall from 2:00pm.

MURRINGO

Murringo service will be held at the Murringo Memorial Hall from 8:30am.

Participants are asked to assemble on Murringo Gap Road adjacent to Murringo Public School for the march south to the Murringo Memorial Hall.

RUGBY

Dawn Service at Rugby Memorial Hall from 6:30am followed by breakfast at the Rugby Memorial Hall.

WIRRIMAH

Wirrimah will hold a service at 8:15am in the Wirrimah Memorial.

WOMBAT

Commencing at Dawn with six-riders from the Harden Light Horse group providing a formation at the ceremony site (Corner Rose & Young Street), followed by presentations of Prayers and Hymns, the laying of wreaths and the sounding of the Bugle.

Followed by breakfast at the Wombat Hotel.

YOUNG

Dawn service will be held adjacent the Young Town Hall Memorial Tower at 5:45am in Boorowa Street.

Participants in the march are asked to assemble at 10:30am in Boorowa Street adjacent to the Young Town Hall l Memorial Tower. At 10:45am the march will commence east along Boorowa Street, then north along Lynch Street, west along Lovell Street to Anderson Park Memorial for the 11:00am Memorial Service.
